Description

Most organizations communicate their desire to support Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion projects. Unfortunately, many of these organizations fail to resource their initiatives or commit to clear goals. This can be frustrating for Diversity and Inclusion, HR, Talent Management, and Organizational Development professionals. This course provides an approach for using the DMAIC methodology from Lean Six Sigma to build an effective business case for DE&I programs and to gain alignment with stakeholders.

DMAIC is an abbreviation for Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control. DMAIC is a problem-solving methodology that continuous improvement practitioners have used for decades. Furthermore, it is an approach that resonates with business leaders, especially those with expertise in engineering, operations, and finance.

This instructional content applies the DMAIC problem-solving approach to creating a business case and organizational alignment for your DE&I programs. You can scope this methodology into any HR process that may need to enhance through DE&I efforts. These processes could employee turnover, hiring trends, or promotion rates.

This course is not intended to provide in-depth knowledge of Lean Six Sigma. Therefore, there are no lectures covering principles such as value stream mapping or statistical analysis. Instead, DMAIC is taught as a way to organize your project steps.
