In this class, I will walk you through, step-by-step, how to draw and paint a close-up of a beautiful, vibrant flower using Viviva Watercolors.
We will begin by learning how to accurately measure and draw from a photo reference, though you are free to embrace as much or as little of this accuracy as you wish.
Then we will do a bit of practice with the paint before applying it to our drawing. We will use different techniques to achieve a watery, blended background, as well as vibrant, velvety-textured petals, and lastly, the fine stippled flower center.
We will “noodle” it until we are satisfied, knowing we can practice techniques before committing them to our paintings, take the class multiple times, and on occasion, re-work our paintings to feel more satisfying. We will approach this entire experience with a mindset of openness, learning new things, and having a great time. We will finish off with an optional signature and a hearty congratulations!
I hope you're as excited to try this as I was, and still am! Viviva Watercolors blew me away with their ease of use and application, but mostly with their vibrancy. I feel that they'll carry anyone away who chooses to try them. Let's dig in!
