Description

This course is aimed at advanced users. I suppose you have prior experience using Revit when taking this class. This class is focused only on one topic and that is Roofs and Ceilings. We will discuss everything there is to know about roofs and ceilings in Revit. I am using Revit 2022 version in this course. You will get many tips from my workflows on limitations and usability of different tools, because the fact that the tool is available in Revit, doesn´t necessarily mean that it is usable.

We will take a look at different techniques used for sketching of the roofs and their advantages, on different ways of creating roof openings and which one is suitable for what situation. Next, we will discuss why it is not good practice to model roofs with other Revit categories, what tools are there for us when defining sloping and what are the differences between them. Then we will take a look at different shapes of roofs and how to create them in Revit and roof specific parameters and what they do. Then we will discuss less known roof parts like fascia, soffit, and gutters and how to model them and their actual usability in projects. I will give you some extra tips on roofs that I have found while working on Revit projects. Last but not least we will take a look on Revit ceilings and their limitations.
