To be an effective early childhood teacher you need to choose developmentally appropriate strategies to fit a particular situation. It would be important to consider what the children already know in terms of ICT learning goals for the specific situation.
As you provide ICT activities that build on children’s ICT experience, interests and knowledge I will show you how to be flexible and observant so that you can choose the strategy that will be effective. Often, if one strategy doesn’t work, another one will.
The ICT teaching strategies that you will learn to employ in your early learning environment are evidence and research based that have already been proven to be successful in the development of ICT capability.
ICT capability is in fact technology integration in early childhood education and involves using ICT to support and enhance learning in a meaningful context. Your children will not even know that they are using ICT to achieve the learning outcomes.
By enrolling in this course, you will feel more confident and competent in using ICT in early childhood education and boost child attainment levels in subject learning. Support the use of ICT in early childhood learning activities and improve the quality of what is taught and learned now.
