Whether you are a business leader, government official, or student, it is apparent that out world faces many challenges including poverty, war, climate change, and more. As we work together to solve these challenges, it is important to have a common set of goals to pursue. The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of 17 interconnected goals that are designed to promote an ambitious vision of a more sustainable future.
This course is designed to provide a beginner-level introduction to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and 169 associated targets so that you can more effectively advocate for and understand sustainable policies and initiatives. Some of the things you will learn in this course include:
A comprehensive understanding of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in which we explore each of the 17 goals
An in dept look at the interconnectedness of the 17 SDGs and their relevance to sustainability
Practical approaches for implementing SDGs at various levels—from global initiatives to local actions
The importance of each organization setting its own policies and targets in an effort to achieve the vision of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals
