Description

HIPAA stands for the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996.  This federal law was created as a means to reform the healthcare system of the United States.  It was revised 2009 with the ARRA/HITECH Act and again in 2013 with the Omnibus Rule. The law mandates that all employees who have any possible contact with protected healthcare information be trained in compliance in all areas of HIPAA.
