Spectrum Management is the governing process of radiofrequency spectrum. Unlike many people might think, the radiofrequency spectrum is a scarce 'public' resource that is managed by governments just like any other natural resources, for example oil or gas.  The objective of this course is to increase awareness among the public on the importance of spectrum management, whether is good or bad could have a thriving or devastating socio-economically impact on countries.  This course is based on GSMA official reports it offers a general introduction to mobile spectrum, how do standard bodies, regional and national regulatorily institutions manage and allocate spectrum. The aim to drive major long-term progress in managing spectrum in a global level to unify and regulate services which will serve better the end consumer in a connected world. This course also describes the key challenges faced managing the radio spectrum, for example the challenge posed by rapidly growing data usage. This course offers recommendations and solutions to these challenges based on actual field experience by the Author with real-life examples in North America. The role of governments and standard bodies globally and nationally has also been discussed. The course touches on the key role played by service providers and operators. This course does not require to have a technical background.
